This pen I hold is awful sore
\nAt all the things I use it for
\nIt wants, of course, to be a part
\nOf some fantastic work of art
\nIntently, exactly, dutifully made
\nTo dance across a virgin page
\nLaying down its lines and arcs
\nTo illuminate the light with dark<\/p>\n
But, alas, I’m sad to say
\nIt saw no purpose in today
\nIn making lists and signing checks
\nThis instrument was never flexed
\nThe ink it spilled was martyred, thus
\nWithout a cause, with no purpose
\nThis human realm sure takes its toll
\nOn me
\nMy pen
\nIts liquid soul<\/p>\n
