perk, jerking back<\/p>\n
and forth,<\/p>\n
waiting for the next move. My hands<\/p>\n
clamor and clink!<\/p>\n

hale, her slender snout breathes in and<\/p>\n
out with such force that I can<\/p>\n
feel her boredom<\/p>\n
on the back of my neck.<\/p>\n
I sweep and mop the fetid floor.<\/p>\n
Perched<\/p>\n
on the rug, she observes<\/p>\n
and wiggles her wet nose,<\/p>\n
soft like baby toes, and<\/p>\n
smells the trash<\/p>\n
as it walks through the door.<\/p>\n
Gray<\/p>\n
Are those eyes that wonder<\/p>\n
why I occupy my time<\/p>\n
doing nothing, when<\/p>\n
I could be outside<\/p>\n
